Les Remparts is a small intimate family run hotel set in the picturesque medieval village of Gensac, SW France. The hotel offers peace and tranquility along with a warm welcome from your hosts Steve and Veronica Parker.

Les Remparts is one of the focal points of the medieval village of Gensac, and sits next to the 11th Century Church of Our Lady. Well known locally for its cuisine, Les Remparts offers a range of menus to suit everyone, including many favourites of the region along with tantalising dishes from further afield. Prices range from 24 to 35 for the evening and during the day a lighter lunch can served either in the restaurant from 18 or on the terrace over looking the valley from 8.The restaurant is to be found overlooking the valley from which you can watch the glorious sunsets. In the winter the restaurant has an open fire which gives a wonderful homely atmosphere. In the garden a terrace provides the perfect setting for breakfast on the warm summer mornings. Gensac is set within the heart of the Entre Deux Mers wine growing region of Bordeaux and is about 15 miles from the St Emilion. The village itself is perched on the edge of the hillside overlooking a peaceful valley. The cobbled streets and old castle walls provide a romantic setting. Gensac is a small village with a thriving local community who offer a warm welcome to all visitors. There are many activities through out the summer months, including fetes and Brocantes. Local markets can also be found in Libourne, Castillion la Bataillle and of course the well known market of Ste Foy la Grande. Gensac is well situated between Sainte Foy La Grande and St Emilion making it ideal for wine lovers to explore the area. Whilst in the area take to opportunity to visit some of the local chateaux and sample some wine. There are also some intriguing towns to explore such as Sarlat, Domme and the Caves of Proumeyssac. For the more energetic, cycling is an ideal way to see the vineyards and the wonderful countryside. Many organised trips take advantage of this magnificent location. Not forgetting of course the numerous opportunities for canoeing and boat trips along the breathtaking Dordogne river. Just an hours drive to Bordeaux and you can take the opportunity to visit the fifth largest city in France, with its landscaped quays and pedestrian promenades with history dating back to the 14th century. The coast and beaches lay about an hour and a half away and there are also many lakes for bathing and water sports within easy reach.
